Bates edges Colby in men's tennis, 4-3
LEWISTON, Maine --- Brody Saunders (Park City, Utah) and Ben Crane (Orlando, Fla.) each went three sets to win singles matches, but the Colby College men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 match to Bates College on Thursday.
Saunders took a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win over Tristan Beach at second singles, while Crane won 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 over Josh Feinberg at the fourth singles spot.
Crane and Zach Schuman (Watchung, N.J.) won at second doubles and Tim Fuhriman (Salt Lake City, Utah) and Alex Chin (Anaheim, Calif.) took the third doubles match for the Mules.
The Colby men will play host to MIT at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Colby women are also in action with a 1 p.m. match Saturday against MIT at the Champions racquet club in Waterville. The women also entertain Salve Regina at the Champions club on Sunday at 10 a.m.
