Colby softball drops two games in Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Gustavus Adolphus held off a late Colby College rally in a taking a 7-4 non-conference softball victory on Monday in Florida.
The Mules (0-4) also fell 8-0 to Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Gustavus Adolphus led 7-0 after five innings, but the Mules made it close with three runs in the top of the sixth inning and a single run in the seventh.
Tory Starr had two hits, including a solo homer in the seventh inning, for Colby. Michelle Presby also had two hits, while Lauren Olmsted had a two-run single.
In the loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater, the Mules fell behind 5-0 after two innings and had just three hits.
Colby plays University of Southern Maine in a doubleheader Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Florida.
