Softball team falls twice in Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Luther College scored four times in the third inning on the way to a 6-1 victory over Colby College in softball Thursday in Florida.

The Mules (1-7) also dropped a 12-1 game to DePauw University later in the day.

Carlie Minichino (Stratford, Conn.) had a double for Colby in the loss to Luther. Alyssa Crowell (Gilford, N.H.) added a hit and a run for the Mules. Lauren Olmsted (Lexington, Mass.) and Essie Widlanski (New York, N.Y.) also had hits.

In the game against DePauw, Minichino had a double and Alaina Clark (Casco, Maine) and Katie Wight (South Hero, Vt.) added singles for Colby.
