Colby softball finishes trip with win, loss
FORT MYERS, Fla. ---- Alyssa Crowell earned the victory and helped her own cause at the plate to lift the Colby College softball team to an 8-0 victory over Oberlin College on Friday.
The Mules (2-8) also lost 2-0 to Wisconsin-Whitewater earlier in the day.
Crowell had three strikeouts, no walks and allowed just one hit in the five-inning game that was called because of the eight-run rule. Crowell also finished with two RBI, while teammate Lauren Olmsted added two hits. Alaina Clark had a two-run single for the Mules in the fourth inning to give Colby a 4-0 lead.
In the first game of the day, Wisconsin-Whitewater scored lone runs in the first and third innings. Randi Arsenault allowed six hits in taking the tough loss for Colby.
