Puskar, Starr lead Colby softball past Husson
BANGOR, Maine --- Mollie Puskar and Tory Starr each had three hits as the Colby College softball team scored six runs in the first two innings on the way to a 7-4 victory over Husson College in non-conference play Thursday.
Puskar was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Starr had two doubles in her 3-for-4 effort and had three RBI. Amy Palmer added two hits for Colby (4-12).
The Mules got an RBI single from Starr in the first inning and then put away the game with five runs in the second. Puskar and Carlie Minichino had back-to-back two-run doubles and Starr had an RBI double. Starr added an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning.
Alyssa Crowell went the distance for Colby and had two strikeouts and one walk.
The Mules will play a doubleheader with Maine-Presque Isle on Friday starting at 3 p.m. The Mules and UMPI were scheduled to play one game on Friday and two on Saturday.
