Colby softball loses to UMF in 12 innings
FARMINGTON, Maine --- Despite some stellar pitching from Lauren Olmsted in the first seven innings, the Colby College softball team lost a tough 5-4 non-conference game in 12 innings to University of Maine at Farmington on Monday.
Olmsted pitched seven scoreless innings before runners were placed at second in the extra innings. She worked eight innings and allowed one earned run while striking out four and walking two.
Kara Fagan went 5-for-5 and had more than half of Colby's nine hits in the game. Tory Starr added a pair of hits, one run and one RBI.
Maine-Farmington had just five hits in 12 innings, but were helped out by five errors.
