Maine softball takes win over Mules
ORONO, Maine --- The Colby College softball team kept it close with University of Maine for much of the game in a 4-0 loss on Tuesday.
Colby pitchers Alyssa Crowell and Lauren Olmsted each had solid outings. Crowell pitched the first four innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out two and walking two. Olmsted went the final two innings and gave up one hit and had two strikeouts and one walk.
Amy Palmer had the lone hit for Colby (6-14), which allowed two runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth.
Courtney Gingrich pitched the first four innings to earn the win for Maine.
