Colby softball loses 1-0 game to U. New England
BIDDEFORD, Maine --- University of New England scored a lone run in the third inning and made that stand up in a 1-0 victory over Colby College in non-conference softball Thursday.
Colby pitchers Alyssa Crowell and Lauren Olmsted each pitched three solid innings, but the Mules managed just five hits. Olmsted allowed just one hit and Crowell gave up only three hits.
The Nor'easters (6-5) got a combined pitching effort from Sarah Hamel and Jess Silvio in the win.
Alaina Clark had a single and three walks for Colby. Kara Fagan and Essie Widlanski both had one hit and one run scored.
