Colby has 39 athletes on NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team

WATERVILLE, Maine ---- Colby College had 39 athletes named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Spring All-Academic Team.

The NESCAC format for selecting all-academic honors states that a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.

Colby's members on the team include: junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Jennifer Anderson (Kennebunk, Maine), junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Rebecca Anderson (Kennebunk, Maine), junior women's crew member Elyse Atkind (Needham, Mass.), senior men's crew member Alexander Boyd (Charles City, Va.), senior men's lacrosse player Jonathan Bodansky (Seattle, Wash.), junior women's track and field athlete Anna Bruno (Swarthmore, Pa.), junior men's lacrosse player Geoff Buckle (Wayland, Mass.), senior men's outdoor track and field athlete Dave Civitello (Hamden, Conn.), junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Allison Cogbill (La Crosse, Wisc.), senior women's outdoor track and field athlete Emilie Coulson (Fish Creek, Wisc.), senior women's crew member Katie Curtis (Hebron, Maine), junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Kirsten Davis (Franklin, Mass.), senior women's crew member Margaret Duggan (Bronxville, N.Y.), senior softball player Kara Fagan (Arlington, Va.), senior men's outdoor track and field athlete Jason Foster (Waterbury, Vt.), junior men's lacrosse player Kyle Haskett (Burlingame, Calif.), junior baseball player Jordan Henry (Kensington, Md.), junior women's crew member Mariah Hudnut (Fort Collins, Colo.), senior men's lacrosse player Peter Ippolito (Concord, Mass.), senior baseball player Rob Jacobs (Mequon, Wisc.), senior women's outdoor track and field athlete Kara McCabe (Watertown, Conn.), senior women's crew member Sharon McMonagle (Avon, N.J.), senior men's lacrosse player Jeff Miller (Marshfield Hills, Mass.), senior women's outdoor track and field athlete Jess Minty (Concord, Mass.), senior men's outdoor track and field athlete Josh Montague (Worcester, Vt.), junior women's lacrosse player Liz Morbeck (Seattle, Wash.), junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Lauren Oliff (Lexington, Mass.), junior women's crew member Austin Phillips (Madison, Conn.), senior men's lacrosse player Christian Rieben (Guilford, Conn.), junior women's crew member Justine Scott (Spokane, Wash.), junior men's lacrosse player Dan Schupack (Cheshire, Conn.), senior men's lacrosse player Sam Bailey Stark (Nashotah, Wisc.), junior softball player Miki Starr (Dunbarton, N.H.), junior women's outdoor track and field athlete Brianna Tufts (Exeter, N.H.), junior men's outdoor track and field athlete Dan Vassallo (Wilmington, Mass.), junior men's outdoor track and field athlete John Waller (Lexington, Mass.), senior women's lacrosse player Leah Weisberg (Falmouth, Maine), senior men's lacrosse player Nate Werlin (Winchester, Mass.) and junior softball player Essie Widlanski (New York, N.Y.).

Fagan and Foster each made the team for the third straight year. The pair both made it as sophomores before the NESCAC changed the guidelines to include only juniors and seniors. Foster, Minty, Morbeck and Vassallo each earned all-conference honors and all-academic honors by the NESCAC.
