Colby men's squash finishes 19th in country
PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Colby College men's squash team finished 19th in the country after competing at the National Squash Championships this past weekend at Princeton University.
The Mules (11-15) went into the week ranked 19th and came out with the same ranking. Colby played in the Summers Division, which features teams ranked 17 to 24.
Colby opened the tourney with a 7-2 win over then 22nd-ranked Connecticut College. Jake Leiby, Amit Gaind, Ryan Maher, Mark Biggar, Andy Carr, Nate Stone and Brett Willis won matches for the Mules.
The Mules then fell 5-4 to 18th-ranked St. Lawrence in a division semifinal match. Colby closed out the tourney with an 8-1 win against Hamilton in the 19th-20th place match.
Carr, Stone, Willis and Justin Russell took matches for Colby against St. Lawrence. Leiby, Gaind, Maher, Todd Basnight, Carr, Sam Weeks, Stone and Willis took matches against Hamilton.
