Women fourth, men 11th at Tufts Invitational
MEDFORD, Mass. --- Anna King won the 5,000-meter run in a field of 17 runners to help the Colby College women's indoor track team take fourth place at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
King had a time of 18:31.15 and teammate Liz Turner was third with an 18:37.47. Colby finished the meet with 83 points in the 16-team field. Tufts won both the men's and women's meets.
Emilie Coulson tied for second in the high jump (5-1.75) and was fourth in the triple jump (31-5.75). First-year sprinter Erin Beasley placed third in both the 55-meter dash (7.70) and the 200-meter dash (27.83). Jess Minty took fourth place in the mile run (5:14.26) and Melissa Cianciolo was fourth in the weight throw (38-11). Abbie Frederick placed sixth in the 55 hurdles (9.88) and Brianna Kondrat took sixth in the shot put (35-6.5).
For the Colby men, Jason Foster took second place in the weight throw (54-4.5) and Dan Vassallo was third in the 5,000 meters (15:39.72). John Waller was fourth in the 800 meters (1:59.94) and Menya Hinga took fourth in the 400 meters (53.09).
