Minty earns All-America honor for taking eighth in 800 meters
NORTHFIELD, Minn. --- Jess Minty finished in eighth place in the women's 800-meter run and Anna King took ninth in the mile for Colby College at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday night at St. Olaf College.
Minty, who earned All-America honors for finishing in the top eight for the second straight year, finished in a time of 2:19.90. She had a time of 2:14.67 in Friday's qualifying run. Minty finished in second place in the 800 meters at the national meet last year.
Keene State's Breanne Lucey won the 800 meters in 2:13.78. At the New England Division III Championships, Minty won the 800 meters in 2:13.36 and Lucey took fourth in 2:16.20.
King just missed out on All-America honors by placing ninth, but she had a solid time of 5:02.53. She ran a 5:08.04 in the qualifying run on Friday night. Wisconsin-Platteville's Marcia Taddy won the mile in 4:55.90.
