Turner, King lead Colby at Open New England meet
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --- Liz Turner placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run and Anna King placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for Colby College at the Open New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at MIT.
Turner had a time of 37:49.14 in her race, while King finished in 10:58.3 in the steeplechase. Jess Minty was seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a 17:20.98 as the Colby women placed 24th out of 37 teams with nine points.
Melissa Cianciolo was 17th in the javelin throw with a toss of 109-08. Erin Beasley took 19th in the 100 dash (13.08) and was 21st in the 200 dash (26.68). Liz Petit took 20th in the 1,500 meters (4:54.4) and Hillary Easter was 20th in the steeplechase in 11:44.0. Devan FitzPatrick finished 22nd in the 1,500 meters (4:57.66).
For the Colby men, Jeff Alden took 10th place in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:40.60). Jason Foster was 13th in the hammer throw (160-09) and Dan Vassallo placed 14th in the 10,000 meters (32:09.42). The Mules did not score any points in the meet.
