Foster eighth, Cogbill ninth for Colby at ECAC meet

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Colby College's Jason Foster placed eighth in the men's discus throw at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Springfield College on Friday.

Foster, getting ready for competition in the hammer throw at next weekend's NCAA Division III Championship meet, had a throw of 143-02 in the discus. Colby teammate Jeff Alden placed 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:52.30.

For the Colby women, Allison Cogbill was ninth in the 10,000-meter run in 41:10.82, while Hillary Easter was 12th (4:57.56) and Devan FitzPatrick (4:59.65) was 13th in the 1,500 meters. Rebecca Anderson placed 14th in the 3000 steeplechase (12:29.35), Melissa Cianciolo took 16th in the javelin (105-10) and was 18th in the hammer throw (138-10).
