Colby volleyball wins 20th match in easy romp of U. New England
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Colby College rans its record to 20-1 with a 30-18,
30-11, 30-14 sweep of the University of New England in non-conference
volleyball action Wednesday evening at the Campus Center.
Colby has won 20 matches or more for the fourth straight season under head
coach Candice Parent.
Kaitlin Adams '06 (Athol, Mass.) led the way for the Mules with a
match-high 15 kills to go with three service aces. Cait Cleaver '06
(Kennett Square, Pa.) pitched in with a double-double of 11 kills and 10
digs, while setter Jenny Lawrence '09 (Lafayette, Calif.) had 32 assists.
The Mules -- ranked number one in the latest New England Women's Volleyball
Association poll -- also received 10 digs from libero Kendall Kirby '07
(Piedmont, Calif.).
Rachel Seawards '07 (Rollinsford, N.H.) had six kills and nine digs for the
Nor'easters (6-9). Alissa Ehmke '08 (Baileys Harbor, Wisc.) contributed 13
assists.
Colby travels to Maryland on Friday for the McDaniel College Tournament.
