Cleaver reaches 1,500 kills as Mules rip Bates
LEWISTON, Maine -- Colby College's volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in New England, moved to 24-2 overall and 7-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference with an easy 3-0 victory over Bates College on Wednesday night.
The Mules lead the NESCAC with their perfect record and have three more league games remaining. The regular season champion will host the NESCAC Tournament.
Senior outside hitter Cait Cleaver went over 1,500 career kills with seven kills in two games. She has 1,504 career kills and is already the all-time leader in kills at Colby. Cleaver also had six service aces and eight digs.
Kaitlin Adams added 10 kills, eight aces and four kills for the Mules, while Jenny Lawrence had 26 assists and Kendall Kirby and Cassie Sancartier had 10 and 12 digs, respectively.
Colby will play at Mount Holyoke at 5 p.m. on Friday in the Hall of Fame Tournament.
