Colby volleyball at 5-0 after win over Bates
WATERVILLE, Maine ---- Kaitlin Adams (Athlol/Athol, Mass.) had 13 kills as the Colby College volleyball team moved to 5-0 on the season with a 3-0 victory over Bates College on Wednesday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The Mules won by scores of 30-14, 30-19, 30-17 in the non-conference match. The two teams will play a New England Small College Athletic Conference match at Bates on October 19.
Genevieve Lawrence (College Prep School/Lafayette, Calif.) added 30 assists and nine defensive digs for Colby. Cait Cleaver (Unionville/Kennett Square, Pa.) finished with 11 kills and nine digs, while Kendall Kirby (Piedmont/Piedmont, Calif.) had 11 digs.
Bates (1-4) received eight kills and nine digs from Liz Santy (Farmington/Farmington, Conn.). Lauren Gold (Hotchkiss/Sacramento, Calif.) had 11 digs.
The Mules take on Tufts University in an 8 p.m. home conference match Friday. Colby then faces Amherst College at noon Saturday. Bates returns to Colby for a conference match against Tufts at noon Saturday.
