WPI takes win over Colby women's basketball

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Meghan Pajonas had 17 points and eight rebounds in leading the Worcester Polytechnic Institute women's basketball team to a 74-53 win over Colby College in the opening round of the WPI Invitational on Friday night.

Colby (4-4) will play either Suffolk or Wesleyan in the consolation game Saturday at 1 p.m. WPI meets the second game winner in the title game at 3 p.m.

Tiffany Madsen added 15 points for WPI (5-4), which led 32-17 at halftime.

Katie McCabe paced Colby with 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting and eight rebounds. Regina Wohl finished with nine points, four rebounds and three assists, while Kate Emery had nine points and three rebounds.
