Suffolk edges Colby in women's basketball

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Gillian Brignac shot 7-for-8 from the field and had 15 points and seven rebounds in leading Suffolk University to a 59-56 win over Colby College in the consolation game of the WPI Invitational on Saturday.

Kerry Bowman added 11 points and seven rebounds for Suffolk, which led 34-32 at halftime. Jenn Fogg had 10 points and eight rebounds, while Sarah Gregory had 10 points for the winners.

Kate Emery finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds (six offensive) to pace Colby (4-5). Regina Wohl contributed nine points, six rebounds and five assists for the Mules. Tracy Nale had 10 points, while Courtney Williams and Laura Williamson both had eight points.

Colby plays host to Bates College in a non-conference game Wednesday at 5 p.m.
