Top-ranked Middlebury women's hockey stops Colby
WATERVILLE, Maine ---- The combination of Erika Nakamura (Boston, Mass.)
and Alison Graddock (Stowe, Vt.) accounted for two goals in the final 1:07
of the second period to help top-ranked Middlebury College take a 3-0
victory over Colby College in a New England Small College Athletic
Conference game at Alfond Rink on Friday.
After nearly 39 minutes of scoreless hockey, Nakamura tallied with 1:07
remaining in the second period off an assist from Graddock. Just 20 seconds
later, Nakamura had the assist on Graddock's goal for a 2-0 lead after two
periods.
Shannon Sylvester (Randolph, N.J.) tallied just 1:22 into the third period
to help the Panthers (16-0, 10-0 NESCAC) pull away.
Genevieve Triganne (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) kept the Mules (9-5, 6-4) in the
game with 47 saves. Middlebury's Kate Kogut (Springfield, Mass.) got the
shutout with 19 stops.
