Colby women's hockey blanks Williams, 3-0
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. ---- Genevieve Triganne earned her first shutout of the season with 30 saves and Lindsay Tedeschi had a big return to the lineup with two goals to lead the Colby College women's hockey team to a 3-0 win over Williams College on Friday night.
Tedeschi, playing in her first game of the season after studying abroad in the first semester, scored the first two goals of the game for Colby (5-3). She tallied at 11:28 of the first period off assists from first-year players Rebecca Julian and Laura Anning.
Tedeschi made it 2-0 at 5:28 of the second period on a shorthanded goal. Williams had just gone on the power play 11 seconds earlier when Tedeschi tallied off an assist from Heather Nickerson.
Julian got her fourth goal of the season at 9:16 on the power play from assists by Amanda Comeau and Anning.
Colby plays at top-ranked Middlebury at 3 p.m. Saturday.
