Colby women's hockey defeats Sacred Heart, 5-1
WATERVILLE, Maine ---- Lindsay Tedeschi (Wilmot, N.H.) had two goals and
one assist to power the Colby College women's hockey team to a 5-1
non-conference win over Sacred Heart University on Friday night at Alfond Rink.
The Mules (11-7) and Sacred Heart (9-12-3) will play again Saturday at 3 p.m.
Laura Anning (Ingramport, Nova Scotia) had one goal and one assist in the
opening period to help Colby to a 3-1 lead at the break. Anning leads the
Mules with 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points.
Anning scored at 5:34 and then assisted on a goal by Rebecca Julian (South
Windsor, Conn.) at 7:58. Tedeschi scored unassisted at 13:39 for a 3-0 margin.
Allie Gillman (Montreal, Quebec) scored Sacred Heart's lone goal at 14:10
of the first period.
Lindsay Barada (New Canaan, Conn.) scored the lone goal of the second
period for Colby and Tedeschi closed out the scoring in the third period.
Lacey Brown (Freeport, Maine) made 29 saves in about 57 minutes of action
in goal for Colby.
