10th-ranked Colby women's lacrosse stops ninth-ranked Williams

WATERVILLE, Maine ---- First-year player Kate Sheridan (Hingham, Mass.) had five goals to help the 10th-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team to an 11-9 victory over ninth-ranked Williams College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game Saturday at Bill Alfond Field.

Sheridan had three goals in the first half to help the Mules fight back for a 6-6 tie at the break. Williams (0-2 overall, 0-2 NESCAC) went ahead 3-0 in the 14 minutes of the game while Colby had four shots hit the post during that time.

The Mules battled back to make it 3-3 with a goal by first-year Lauren Strazzula (Norwell, Mass.) and two goals by Sheridan. However, Williams went ahead again with two straight goals by Rachel Barr (Hanover, N.H.) and Kaylan Tildsley (Andover, Mass.).
