Prisby has personal best in 5,000 meters

BOSTON, Mass. --- Karen Prisby bettered her own personal best time by nearly 21 seconds in the 5,000-meter run at Boston University's Valentine's Indoor Track and Field Meet on Friday.

Prisby had a time of 17 minutes, 42.70 seconds and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III meet in the event in taking 18th in the 5,000 meters. There were numerous competitors in each event and participants included athletes from Division I, II and III programs.

Anna King had her best time of the indoor season in taking 19th place in the mile run with a time of 5:08.19. She qualified for the Open New England and ECAC meets with that time. Elizabeth Petit had a personal best time and qualified for the ECAC meet by taking 30th place in the mile in 5:14.47.

Jess Minty had her second best time of the season in taking 19th in the 800 meters in 2:17.44. Meanwhile, Erin Beasley had a time of 26.97 in the 200-meter dash.
