LePage leads Bowdoin field hockey past Colby, 2-0
WATERVILLE, Maine Burgess LePage (Cumberland, Maine) had both goals and Kate Leonard (Eliot, Maine) posted the shutout as the eighth-ranked Bowdoin College field hockey team took a 2-0 victory over Colby College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game Saturday at Bill Alfond Field.
LePage tallied off a penalty corner with 21:10 left in the first half off an assist from Katherine Gormley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) for a 1-0 lead at the break.
LePage got an insurance goal with 8:43 remaining in the game from a pass by Lindsay McNamara (Milton, Mass.).
Leonard stopped five shots as Bowdoin improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the league.
The Mules (0-2, 0-2 NESCAC) got 17 saves from goaltender Jamie Enos (South Hamilton, Mass.) to keep Colby in the game.
