Trinity field hockey gets overtime goal to beat Colby, 2-1

HARTFORD, Conn. ---- Marisa Shutte (Allentown, Pa.) scored 5:43 into overtime for her second goal of the game to power the Trinity College field hockey team to a 2-1 win against Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday. Trinity improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the league, while the Mules fall to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in NESCAC play.

After a scoreless first half, Trinity scored first when Shutte tallied off an assist from Emily Skipp early in the second half. Colby tied the game at 1-1 when Chrissy Maloney (Wellesley, Mass.) scored unassisted with 7:11 remaining in regulation time.

Mule goaltender Jamie Enos (South Hamilton, Mass.) was once again solid with 13 saves, while Trinity goalie Jillian Fraker had four stops.

Colby has the week off before playing host to Middlebury College next Saturday at noon.
