Colby women's soccer rips University of New England, 6-0

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Laura Williamson (Manchester, Conn.) scored two goals for Colby College and three players tallied their first collegiate goals as the Mules took a 6-0 non-conference women's soccer victory over University of New England on Thursday.

Williamson had two goals to reach 40 for her career and she moved within two points of tying Christine O'Donnell '03 for the all-time scoring record. Williamson has 40 goals and 13 assists for 93 points, while O'Donnell had 43 goals and nine assists for 95 career points. O'Donnell also holds the all-time goals scored record.

Two first-year players --- Lexi Bohonnon (Guilford, Conn.) and Meaghan Edwards (East Brunswick, N.J.) ---- and sophomore Whitney Lynn (Dallas, Texas) all scored their first collegiate goals for Colby (4-0-2). Libba Cox (Guilford, Conn.) had the other goal and added an assist for the Mules, while Katie McCabe (Watertown, Conn.) and Meg Cordner (Katonah, N.Y.) each had two assists. Hannah Holbrook (Acton, Mass.) notched her first collegiate point with an assist and Lynn also had one assist.

The game was scoreless for the first 30:56 of the contest until Bohonnon ripped in a shot from 18 yards out off a nice cross by Cordner. The Mules made it 2-0 at halftime just three minutes later when Cox tallied off a corner kick from McCabe.

Williamson scored two goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half.
