Tom Dexter, Head Coach Tom Dexter enters his 11th year as the head coach of Colby's baseball program. He is a 1987 graduate of SUNY-Cortland, where he also earned a master's degree in coaching and physical education. Dexter is also the defensive coordinator for the Colby football team, coming to Colby in 1989 after a stint as assistant football coach at Cornell University. A native of Albany, N.Y., Dexter and his wife, Sarah, reside in Oakland, Maine, with their daughters Hannah and Lydia and sons Sam and Jacob. "Colby has become a legitimate contender for the NESCAC title through the players' hard work and dedication to the program," Dexter says, "but what stands out about our team is not just the baseball, but the first class manner in which our players represent Colby College." Dexter's record over the past six years is 88-85, including a berth in the ECAC playoffs in 1997 and three CBB outright titles. Assisting Dexter for an 11th year as third base and infield coach is Chappy Nelson, a 1982 graduate of Colby.
