The Colby bats which had been somewhat quiet the first few days, were awoken this afternoon as the Mules picked up a convincing victory over Oberlin 13-5. Brandon Irwin '04 (Alexandria, N.Y.) smashed a solo homerun to left field to start the scoring in the second, and then the Mules picked up another un via a Joe Johnson '03 (Norwood, Mass.) single and Matt Simard '02 (Auburn, Maine) sacrifice fly. The fifth innning was when the Mules did the majority of their damage, with 8 runs coming on 9 hits. Highlights included a two run homerun to straight away center from Jon Lord '02 (Dublin, N.H.), an RBI double down the right field line from Lucas Cummings '02 (South Paris, Maine), a Vincent Domestico '04 (Ashland, Mass.) RBI single, a Simard RBI single, a two run single from B.L. Lippert '04 (Augusta, Maine) through the right side, and finally another Lord hit for an RBI.
