Tom Dexter, Head Coach
The 2005 season marks Tom Dexter's 14th as head coach of the Colby baseball program. Dexter is a 1987 graduate of SUNY-Cortland, where he also earned a master's degree in coaching and physical education. Assisting Dexter for a 14th year as infield coach is Chappy Nelson, a 1982 graduate of Colby. Dexter, who has 154 career coaching wins, is also the defensive coordinator for Colby's football team. He came to Colby in 1989 after serving as assistant football coach at Cornell. Dexter is a former executive committee member of the New England Baseball Coaches Association. A native of Albany, N.Y., Dexter and his wife, Sarah, reside in Oakland, Maine, with their daughters, Hannah and Lydia, and their sons, Sam and Jacob.

Assisting Dexter for a 13th year as third base and infield coach is Chappy Nelson, a 1982 graduate of Colby. Also, Eric Brown returns for a second year as pitching coach and Brandon Irwin '04 enters his first season as an assistant coach
