The Colby men's basketball team jumped out to a 38-28 halftime lead, but could not hold off Goucher College who shot 57% from the floor in the second half and went on to down the Mules 77-67 in the consolation game of the Ramada Inn Captains Shootout. Sam clark led the way again for Colby with 25 points and was named to the All-Tourney team. Zeb Davis chipped in with 12 points and Kevin Crossman came off the bench and added 15 for the Mules. Goucher (4-7) placed four players in double figures with Thabo Letsebe leading the way with 18. Goucher outscored Colby 19-5 from the free throw line as Colby only went to the stripe one time in the second half and turnover's hurt Colby as they committed 23 to only 8 for Goucher. Host team Christopher Newport University topped John Carroll University for the Championship 85-71.
