Colby Men's Hoops Falls to Bates 75-69 Waterville, ME Bates was able to capture the first leg of the CBB Championship with a 75-69 victory over Colby at Wadsworth Gymnasium. Bates victory was their seventh in a row, matching their longest streak since the 1952-3 season. Key three pointers by Ramon Garcia '04 and Billy Hart '02 put Bates up by ten, deep into the second half. Colby made a run at the end, but was never able to get the spread closer than five. Bates had four players in double figures, led by Ed Walker with 17 points and Alex Wilson with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Damien Strahorn led Colby with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Also chipping in for Colby was Zeb Davis '01 with 20 points and Sam Clark '01 with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
