Emerson Knocks Colby From ECAC Tournament 73-68

The Emerson College Lions held off a tremendous second half comeback by Colby to advance in the ECAC tournament with a 73-68 win here in Wadsworth Gym. Robert Hennigan had the hot hand for Emerson as the freshman foward showed why he was named Rookie of the year in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference scoring a game high 26 points which included 6 three point field goals. Emerson jumped out to a 43-36 halftime lead only to see that lead disappear as Colby got to within one point 70-69 with one minute left. Colby's outcome was determined on the foul line as the Mules shot a dismal 12-24 from the line. Emerson was on at the charity stripe, shooting 9-12. Sam Clark led the way for Colby as the senoir finished out his distinguished career scoring 23 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. For Emerson, who advances to the seminfinals of the ECAC tournament with a 20-8 record, Rob Murphy and Ian Findlay each chipped in with ten points apiece. Colby finishes the year 17-10.
