The women's basketball team improved to 3-2 on the season with a three point win over NESCAC school Colby College in Wenham Thursday night. Gordon held a two point margin at the half behind the play of Kara Pellegrino, Sarah DeLuca, Sarah Jacobs and Jill Pickering. The White Mules outshot the Scots in the first half but Gordon capitalized from three point range and the free throw line to hold the lead. The Scots remained steady in the second half and used turnover points and fast break points to turn back each White Mule run.

Leading by three, Gordon missed the front end of a one-and-one with seconds remaining; Colby quickly moved up court for a chance to send the game into overtime but missed their 10th three point shot in 10 attempts. Colby was led by freshman Wendy Bonner who had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Sarah Walsh who had 14 points and 3 rebounds. Cara Dionisi played a solid defensive game with 5 steals. Colby's record falls to 2-2 on the season. The Lady Mules are in action on Saturday at Emmanuel College at 2 PM and Sunday at Pine Manor College at 1 PM.
