Since its first official varsity season in 1978, the Colby women's cross-country program has flourished with a strong tradition of success.

Colby repeatedly has been a contender in the New England Division III top 10 rankings. The New England Small College Athletic Conference is one of the strongest cross-country conferences in the nation and always provides great competition.

The Colby cross-country program has produced 11 runners who have earned All-America honors, and since 1993 Colby has qualified for the NCAA meet as a team five times, finishing as high as fifth place in 2004. The squad usually averages 20 team members.
