The Colby College field hockey team (2-2, 0-2 conference) defeated the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers in double overtime Wednesday, 2-1. Marcia Ingraham (02, Georgetown, Ma) scored the first goal for the Mules, with help from Lindsay Peters (03, Freeport, Me), at 10:35 remaining in the second half. The White Mules were up 1-0 with one minute remaining in the game when the Beavers' Michelle Ouellette scored the tying goal.

In the first overtime Colby took the offensive, but to no avail. The White Mules out shot the Beavers 5-1 during this period. The second overtime saw the Beavers take the offensive, but Colby led the shoot out 5-4. With 46 seconds remaining in the second overtime Becca Bruce (02, Exeter, NH), assisted by Marcia Ingraham, scored the winning goal.

Jane Stevens (01, Chevy Chase, Md) recorded 13 saves and one goal against, while playing the entire game. The Beavers' Fawn Albert recorded 27 saves and two goals against.

The White Mules will travel to Medford, Ma on Saturday September 23 to take on the Tufts University Jumbos at 1:00pm.
