Standish, Me The Colby College field hockey team came from behind to defeat Saint Joseph's College, 3-2, on Thursday afternoon. The Monks' Heather O'Boyle struck first within the first seven minutes of action - an assisted shot from Jen Marsh to the back of the goal. Colby's Becca Bruce tied the game six minutes later off a scramble to tie the score at 1-1 heading into the intermission. Sophomore Lyndsay Peters put the White Mules ahead on an unassisted shot at 31:49 of the second half. Saint Joseph's freshman Tara Gagnon tied the score once again on an unassisted goal just over a minute later. The White Mules' Caroline Riss scored what proved to be the game-winner at 20:40, taking a pass from Bruce and chipping the ball past Monks' goalkeeper Laura Lombardi for the final score. Lombardi, who played the entire game for Saint Joseph's, came up with 19 saves. Colby's Carrie Torrisi saved seven balls. Colby improves to 3-3 overall.
