Brenda Beckwith begins her first season as the Colby White Mules interim head coach. Prior to coming to Colby, Coach Beckwith led a very successful program at Winslow High School (Winslow, ME) to five state championship appearances, capturing the titles in ¹93, ¹97,¹98, and 2000. In following the strong field hockey tradition at Colby College, Coach Beckwith will focus her efforts on recruiting and program organization in preparation for the competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). A native of Benton, ME, Beckwith earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1981 from William Penn College (Iowa) where she also was a member of the 1981 AIAW National Championship basketball team. In 1986, she earned a master's degree from Bemidji State University (MN). Currently, Coach Beckwith teaches physical education at Winslow High School.

Eileen Reading begins her first season as the assistant coach for the field hockey program at Colby. Reading has been coaching at the collegiate level for 18 years, including twelve years at Carleton College and the last three at Ohio Wesleyan University. At Ohio Wesleyan, Reading was the head softball coach and the assistant coach for the basketball team that competed in the 2001 NCAA Division III Final Four, finishing third in the nation. Reading received her BA in Physical Education from Bethany College (WV) and a MS in Sport Science from Springfield College (MA). As a student-athlete at Bethany College, Reading was the conference MVP in field hockey and was awarded a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for her academic and athletic accomplishments. She is in the Athletic Hall of Fame at Bethany and at South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY.
