Heidi Godomsky, Head Coach
Heidi Godomsky resumes her coaching duties with the Colby field hockey team after being on sabbatical during the 2002 field hockey season and missing the 2001 season on maternity leave.
Godomsky's coaching career began at Trinity College, where she was an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach. While at Trinity, Godomsky earned a master's degree in history with a focus on the history of women's sports in the United States, Title IX, and gender-equity.
Godomsky took over a Colby field hockey program that went 2-10 in 1992. In her first year, she helped the Mules to a 7-7 record. In the last three years before Godomsky took time off from coaching field hockey, the Mules averaged almost eight wins per season during that time. She takes back over a squad that went 18-12 during the last two seasons and made the NESCAC Tournament both seasons.
Godomsky is also the head coach of the women's lacrosse team at Colby and will begin her 10th season as coach this spring. Colby finished as one of the four best teams in NESCAC in both 2001 and 2002, earning back-to-back semifinal NESCAC tournament appearances.
Godomsky earned a degree in government in 1991 from The College of William and Mary, where she was a four-year member of the college's NCAA Division I lacrosse program and also played field hockey.
Marcia Ingraham, Assistant Coach
One of the top players in Colby field hockey and lacrosse history, Marcia Ingraham begins her first season as assistant coach with the Mules.
Ingraham is the all-time leader in Colby field hockey history with 29 career defensive saves. A member of the Colby Class of 2002, Ingraham started all 59 games in which she played and ended her career with 29 goals and six assists for 64 points.
Ingraham was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Regional All-America selection after her senior season. She also played in the NFHCA North/South Senior All-Star Team and was a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first-team all-star.
The Colby most valuable player the last two years for field hockey, Ingraham earned Regional All-America honors in three of her four years.
Ingraham was a two-time All-America selection as a lacrosse player. She earned second team honors as a senior and was on the third team after her junior year. Ingraham, a three-time Regional All-America selection, finished second all-time in scoring with 146 goals and 55 assists for 201 points.
Ingraham, who played in the STX North/South Senior All-Star lacrosse game, will also be an assistant coach for head coach Heidi Godomsky and the women's lacrosse team.
