Belgrade Lakes, Me The Colby College golf team placed fifth out of nine team at the University of Maine-Farmington Invitational on Wednesday. Colby's score for the invitational was 315. Husson College won the team title with a combined score of 307. The White Mules' Matt Simard (02, Auburn, Me) and Justin Ucko (02, Short Hills, NJ) led the team and tied for sixth place, along with three others competitors, in the individual standings with each shooting a 76. The third individual scoring for Colby was senior Scott Bixby (01, La Jolla, Ca) who tied for 14th overall with a 78. Jake Hobart (02, Doway, Ca) tied for 28th overall while shooting an 85 for 18 holes. Colby freshman Derek Taff (Weston, Ma) tied for 34th place with a score of 88. Blake Cunningham of Saint Joseph's College won the individual title with a 69. Colby returns home for the CBB (Colby, Bates, Bowdoin) Tournament at the Waterville Country Club on Sunday, October 8.
