Golf finishes third at Terrier Invitational


ROCKLAND, Maine -- The Colby College Golf team got an outstanding performance from first-year Ben Powell on its way to an impressive third place finish in the Terrier Invitational at the Samoset Resort in Rockland.

Powell paced the White Mules with a round of 78, tying him for sixth out of 45 golfers. As a team, Colby finished with a score of 326, only seven strokes behind Husson College and the University of Maine-Farmington, who ended regulation tied at 319. A total of nine teams competed in the tournament.

The White Mules finished two strokes ahead of Bowdoin College, whom they will face again when they head to Brunswick for the two-day Bowdoin Invitational beginning this Sunday.
