Colby shows an impressive 8-1 win over Connecticut College
Waterville, Maine The Colby College White Mules (7-1) came up on top of the Connecticut College Camels (1-7) 8-1 in women¹s hockey action today. The Mules showed off an aggressive offense that managed to put 8 goals in the back of the net.
It didn¹t take Heather DeVito ¹05 (Arlington, Mass.) long to continue where she left off of last night with her two goal performance, as it took her 23 seconds to put Colby up 1-0. The Mules wouldn¹t stop there, as they pressed on and headed into the locker room up 5-0 after the first period. First period goals were scored by Caitlin Krause ¹05 (Keene, N.H.), Kate Sweeney ¹04 (Milton, Mass.), and two goals from Jill Young ¹03 (Edina, Minn.).
Young already having two goals on the afternoon netted her third of the day almost halfway through the second period for a 6-0 advantage for the Mules. Then it was Krause who would tally her second goal, assisted by Heather DeVito ¹05 (Arlington, Mass.) and Kate Sweeney ¹04 (Milton, Mass.). The lone goal for the Camels came from Kyle Ridgway ¹04 (South Berwick, Maine) who put one in just before the period came to a close.
Colby ended the game with a goal by Mallory Young ¹05 (Hanover, N.H.) with just 23 seconds left in the game. DeVito ended the game with one goal and four assists for the Mules. Sarah Webster ¹05 (Shelburne, Vt.) made nine saves for Colby and Anna Trafton ¹02 (Topsham, Maine) accounted for 26 saves herself.
