Women's Hockey Falls to Colby
The Colby College women's hockey team defeated Hamilton College, 3-1
this evening in a NESCAC contest at Sage Rink. The Mules got on the board first
when Kate Sweeney (Milton, MA) scored a power play goal on an assist from
Heather DeVito
(Arlington, MA). The White Mules made it 2-0 when Jill Young (Edina, MN)
tallied a goal at the 8:37 mark of the second period on assists from Carrie
Swiderski (Watertown, CT) and Lauren Gremelspacher (Granby, CT). Hamilton
cut the lead to 2-1 when Emily Koren (Buffalo, NY) jabbed home the loose
puck
in front of the net. However, Colby would put the game out of reach when
Caitlin Krause (Keene, NH) scored late in the second period on an assist
from Sweeney. Hamilton goalie Jen Kroleski (New Rochelle, NY) made 32
saves, while Lynn Hasday (Rockville Centre, NY) made 19 saves for Colby.
Colby will host Bowdoin College on Saturday, December 8 at 3 p.m.
