GAME RECAP: Women's Soccer Week 5 White Mules destroy Monks October 4, 2001 Waterville, ME FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 4, 2001 Colby blanks Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 8-0Waterville, ME – In non-conference action, the White Mules of Colby College hosted the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine. Coming into this afternoon's match, the Monks were 4-5, while the White Mules were 3-1-1. Four first half goes signaled the victory for the White Mules with the game ending 8-0. Leading the charge for Colby College was junior midfielder Christine O'Donnell (Salem, MA) who had two first half goals; while six different White Mules tallied a goal in the game, five of which scored their first goal on the season. The Monks were able to gather some offense but were nullified by a smothering Colby defense and were not able to get a single shot off in the game. Colby College freshman goal keeper, Elizabeth Riley (Saco, ME) recorded her first collegiate shut out. Saint Joseph's College goal keeper, Marissa Regan (Standish, ME) faced 38 White Mule shots and had 7 saves in the game. Colby College women's soccer team is back in action this weekend as they travel to Trinity College (CT) and Williams College (MA) for a Saturday and Sunday affair.
