 Game Recap:

Colby Falls To Strong Hamline Squad 19-7
Colby vs MIT
March 25, 2002
Fort Myers, FL

Fort Myers, Fl.- The Colby College White Mules (1-2) had an offensive explosion in the bottom of the fifth when they picked up seven runs, but were shut out in the rest of the game and picked up a tough 19-7 loss to an impressive Hamline University squad. The Colby rally in the fifth was started when Carrie Morin '03 (Augusta, Maine), Annette Caswell '05 (Bucksport, Maine) and another Colby baserunner loaded the basepaths with no out. Colby's first run came when Cara Pollard '05 (Bucksport, Maine) was hit by a pitch to put up Colby's first crooked number on the scoreboard.  Kim Chadwick '02 (Gardiner, Maine) followed with a two run single that was smoked down the right field line. After a Jessica Fitzgerald '03 (Lynn, Mass.) single Marcy Wagner '02 (Norton, Mass.) cleared the bases with a bomb over the center fielder's head, picking up three RBI's.  Elizabeth Riley '05 (Saco, Maine) drove in the final run when she drove in Wagner with a groundout. That would be it for Colby though on the afternoon, as the middle of the Hamline infield played near flawless defense all afternoon to limit the Colby offense.
