The Colby College White Mules had an offensive explosion that led to an 11-3 victory over Union College. The Mules scoring started in the first inning when Kim Chadwick '02 (Gardiner, Maine) singled to start the inning, then advanced on a sacrifice before crossing the plate after a Union passed ball. The scoring continued in the second when Carrie Morin '03 (Augusta, Maine), Annette Caswell '05 (Bucksport, Maine) and Meaghan Shea '04 (Worcester, Mass.) scored via some Union miscues along with Elizabeth Riley '05 (Saco, Maine) and Wendy Bonner '05 (Lexington, Mass.) singles. The key hit of the inning was a two run single by Jessica Fitzgerald '03 (Lynn, Mass.). Colby picked up two more runs in the third when Morin and Shea scored their second runs of the game, and put the game away with 5 runs in the fourth. Providing the offense in the fourth was Marcy Wagner '02 (Norton, Mass.) with a single and Bonner with a double. The Mules improved to 2-2 with the victory.
