The Colby Mules took a tough loss in their second game of the day as some early offense by Lawrence put Colby in a tough hole. After the leadoff hitter from Lawrence singled her way on, Colby walked the next two batters, and even though Lawrence didn't pick up another hit in the inning, they scored three runs via passed balls and wild pitches. After the Mules gave up another earned run in the top of the second their offense picked up. Elizabeth Riley '05 (Saco, Maine) started the inning with a base on balls, and was followed with a double by Meaghan Shea '04 (Worcester, Mass.). Both runners were driven in on a single by Michaelyn Bortolotti '05 (Hanover, Mass.). The Mules picked up their final run of the game in the third when Jessica Fitzgerald '03 (Lynn, Mass.) walked, and was driven in on a Wendy Bonner '05 (Lexington, Mass.) double. Unfortunately for the Mules that would prove to be their final hit of the day as Lawrence retired their final thirteen batters.
