Colby picked up a split today in a doubleheader versus NESCAC foe Middlebury, The Mules picked up a win in the first game 2-0 thanks largely to the pitching performance of Toni-Lynn Robbins '05 (Appleton, Maine) who pitched a complete game for her second victory of the week. Robbins limited the Panthers to six hits while striking out four. The Mules offense was sparked once again by Kim Chawdick '02 (Gardiner, Maine) who opened the game with a triple and scored on a Jessica Fitzgerald '03 (Lynn, Mass.) sacrifice fly. The Mules would then pick up their second run on an RBI single by Marcy Wagner '02 (Norton, Mass.). The Mules fell in the second game 4-1, with Kate Trasher '04 (Danvers, Mass.) taking the loss despite holding the Middlebury at bay for the majority of the game. Once again the colby offense was ignited by Chadwick, as the lone run came as she singled herself on base, and scored on a Wendy Bonner '05 (Lexington, Mass.) sacrifice fly.
