Dick Bailey is entering his seventh year at the helm of the Colby Mules softball team. Over his previous six years he compiled a 93-80 record. In an effort to strengthen the program, Bailey continues to focus his attention on recruiting top student-athletes.

Bailey has been coaching softball for the past 18 years and during this time has compiled an impressive 339-199 record. During his softball tenure Bailey has won numerous coaching awards and his teams have competed in many post-season events, including the 1994 NAIA national tournament.

A native of Springfield, Mass., Bailey attended Saint Anselm College on a basketball scholarship and went on to receive MVP honors his senior year. He was subsequently inducted into the Saint Anselm Hall of Fame. Bailey holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in international affairs from George Washington University. After 20 years of active military service, Bailey retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
