Colby Men's Swim Team Beats Bates for the 1st time in 5 years, Women drown Bates !

WATERVILLE, Maine

The Colby men's swim team has been steadily improving under Head Coach Tom Burton and their hard work paid off Saturday as the White Mules beat arch rival Bates for the first time in 5 years, by the score of 158 to 141. Colby received wins from it's 200 yd medley relay team of Al Goodman Quinn Keating Kearney shanahan and Ben Schreiner with a time of 1:44:56, the 200 yd freestyle relay team of Nick Waledziak clay smith, ben schreiner & jonathan eck won with a time of 1:30.48. Colby individual wins came from Jonathan Eck=200 freestyle& 200 breast& 200 IM, Keating 100 breast& 200 breast, Kearney shanahan 200 butterfly, Walendziak 50 free & 100 free, 100 butterfly and Steve feldman 3 meter dive.With the win the White Mules even their record at 3-3 while Bates drops to 5-2.

The Colby Women improved to 4-2 on the year as they blew out Bates 185-113. First place finishers for Colby were Kristan Jiggetts 200 Back & 100 back, Carolyn Plant 500 Free, 200 IM& 200 Free, Amy Millett 100 butterfly, Jess Alex 3meterdive and 1 meter dive, Mindy Williams 1000 free, Jess knights 100 free, Michelle Cook 200 butterfly and sarah Jasinski 50 free. Colby took both realy's as Knights, Millett, Jiggetts and Jasinski won the 200 free and Knight, Millett, Laura Collins and Jasinski won the 200 medley. the Bates women drop to 5-2.
